Mark your calendar!

Just wanted to let you know about a couple of events for the new year.

We are planning to do an afternoon of tobogganing in January IF we get some snow. This will be our event for families.

Please mark your calendars for February 13th for our Adults Only Event. We are excited about this event ~ we've booked an evening to learn to curl! If you've never curled before or are an expert curler, we would love to have you join us for a pot luck dinner and an evening of fun on the ice.

More details to follow including when, where, how much and what to bring.

In the meantime, MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Saturday, December 12th

This Saturday night is a dinner for adults only (plus babes-in-arms too!). If you're free and want to have a evening out with friends, just email erin@sistasinsoccer.com to reserve your spot. There is limited space for this event.

Dinner is at 6 pm at McGinnis Landing.

Discussion Night -- You Know You Wanna!

Our next event is a discussion night on the book:

Love and Respect
by Emerson Eggerichs

When: Saturday, Nov. 14th
Where: 7 pm at the church
What to bring: Your thoughts and a pan of squares or dessert
Cost: Nothin'

Coffee and tea and drinks will be provided. It should be an interesting evening of discussion led by our own Marla and Grant.

This Saturday!!

Our bowling event is this Saturday, October 24th. Here are the details...

When: 6:00 pm
Where: Fleetway Bowling Centre
Cost: $7.75 for adults for one game and shoe rental
$6.25 for children for one game and shoe rental

What to Expect: A whole lot of fun bowling and hopefully hitting the DQ next door for icecream afterwards!

Just thought I'd let everyone know that our study and discussion book, Love and Respect is on sale at Upper Room for just $8.99. The sale only runs from September 30 to October 3rd, so if you're looking to get it, it's a good deal!

Session One Topic: Marriage!
Book to Read: Love and Respect by Emerson Eggerichs. There is one copy available in our church library. (You can purchase your own copy at Upper Room Bookstore, Creation Bookstore or online through Chapters, Christian Book.com etc.)

Saturday, October 24th - Family Event: Bowling at Fleetway! Sign up to reserve your spots, space is limited!
Saturday, November 14th - Discussion Night (so you have a month and half to read the book!)
Saturday, December 12th - Adults Dinner Out - TBA

PLEASE NOTE: You certainly don't have to be married to join Connections. This session our topic is marriage, but those who are unmarried are welcome to join in. Other topics will be discussed during sessions 2 and 3.

Welcome to Connections!

Thanks for taking a peek at the new Connections blog. Feel free to check in anytime for info, dates of events etc. Connections is a ministry of Stoney Creek Baptist Church for adults who are looking to connect with other Christians ~ with or without kids, married or unmarried, whomever you are, if you're looking for some fun, some spiritual encouragement, or just to meet some friends, come on out!

The plan for this group is for three sessions in the year...we'll explain:
Session 1 is October to December
Session 2 is January to March
Session 3 is April to June

Each session has three events, one per month. In each session there will be a fun family event, a fun event for adults only and then a teaching/discussion night on the theme of each session.

The dates and topics for each session will be posted shortly. If you have any requests for topics, suggestions for books, events etc., please let us know. OR if you're looking to get involved and feel like helping organize Connections, let us know that too.
